Rebranding

Google Search Console stats

I made a huge mistake by rebranding nomoresheet.es to maña.com. I lost all the traffic (see picture above), the people who visited the site and commented regularly, and my desire to keep pushing the community forward. Believe it or not, the site was getting ~10k users a month, which is not much, but I was happy with that number.

I was thinking that a 301 redirect a month before closing the old site was enough to keep the Google rank. It wasn't. I naively assumed that a shorter domain (and dot-com rather than dot-es) was de facto better.

I'll keep experimenting, but after more than 1000 hours of development, I feel discouraged.
